Mission Statement

“All of us working together for the education of our students.”

WHATS GOING ON THIS WEEK

Your student's regular attendance in school is a huge predictor of your student's success in school overall. Studies have shown that Kindergarten and 1st grade students who miss just two days per month often fail to learn to read at grade level. Students with poor attendance in 6th grade often fail to graduate from high school. Regardless of the reasons for missing school, students who are absent miss out on much more than just bookwork. They miss out on the classroom discussions and experiences that are the real meat and potatoes of learning. Students who are truly sick need to stay home to protect themselves and others, but parents, please seriously evaluate those absences. A sore throat plus a fever is a reason to stay home. A sniffle or a cough really isn't. Try to schedule appointments for later in the day, so the kids don't have to miss the morning academics, which are the most important part of the day. Remember, instilling those good habits now sets your student up for a lifetime of success!

On Saturday, October 25, we will have Saturday School available for any high school student who needs to improve his or her grades in any class. This is the last opportunity for students to improve their 1st quarter grades to stay on track for graduation and/or to keep their eligibility for sports. Saturday school starts at 8:00am and goes until 12:30pm. Mr. Brown will pick students up in Macdoel at the Chevron station at 7:30am.
