Mission Statement

“All of us working together for the education of our students.”

THIS WEEK AT BUTTE VALLEY SCHOOLS

Basketball Playoffs: Unfortunately, neither of our varsity teams made it into the playoffs this year. The athletes are gearing up for the track season now.

Sleep and Learning
When it comes to learning, too little sleep leads to higher levels of distractability, lack of focus, inattentiveness, and lower level of motivation. In the same way that reaction time as an athlete decreases with lack of sleep, the ability to quickly process information on an exam decreases as well when mentally fatigued from lack of sleep. Sleeping strengthens the neural connections that form our memories. The hippocampus is the part of the brain where memory is stored; during sleep, the hippocampus is restored, leading to better memory and recall.

This Week's Events

Mon., Feb. 23 through Fri., Feb. 27 - National FFA Week
